Hey,
I'll be riding out there next week. Just wondering has anyone been into Hospital Creek or Glenogle?? I've never been to either of these places. A few of my buddies were in Glenogle last year and they couldn't seem to find their way up into the alpine.

If anyone could shed some light on these two spots I'd appreciate it

Thanks

Well hospital creek is pretty easy to find the Alpine.the trailhead is right behind the Glenogle mountain Lodge right off the road. There is a section of trail called the wall, watch for oncomming traffic, can be a bugger,no idea on glenogle,I never found it!
Hope this helps,
catmando!

Thanks Catmando....I appreciate it.

Where do you park? Right at Glenogle Mtn Lodge? What sort of terrain is it up at Hospital and is it very busy?? Rough trail in?

A guy that lives right by the trailhead runs a tour company and groomes the trail. It is not a place for the faint of heart, its small and has a few risky areas.I would recommend quartz creek over hospital. It wasnt busy at all when we were there but I would recommend stopping in at the lodge if you want to eat the best germain food I have ever ate.

Glenogle is at 10 mile brake check east of golden.is vary exsposed to HUGE avei chutes all alone the road, pretty hard accuess to alpine aswell.but if can get up the right drainage....is great back there..if you come to a waterfall ur in right drainage:)

Hospital-is half day ride vary small bowl.more of a tour then ride..there is some good climbs but snow sucks at best of times....is used by wildrapids out of golden and the use a sled tow behind groomer.....its ok..

these pic are looking into hospital creek first one is the riding area way off to right and a vary small cabin in the trees, and sec pic most of the trail coming in

Been riding Golden most of my life, and never went to Hospital, didn't think it was worth the time, surprised to see there is some alpine.

Been to Glenogle once, years ago. Never go back, too many tight chutes to cross.

Hey Carbon, where is "nowhere" anyway...?

Went to Glenogle quite a few years ago and still remember it to this day. Got back to the waterfall from the brake check and had crossed 26 avalanche chutes to get there. Couldn't figure out how to get over the waterfall so we made it a short day and headed back early. Had 4 freshies come down while we were in there. Never went back.......:eek::eek:

Hospital is great and you stage right from the road at the trailhead. Be careful though because I triggered an avy there a few years ago and my son brought one down this year. We are lucky he is alive. The White and Wild guys are really friendly but just get out of their way if they are bringing a tour through as many of their customers cannot jump on and off the trail due to their skill level. They enjoy watching good riders putting on a show.

Is the staging at Hospital hard to spot? Do we have to pay anything to ride there? Going to ride half a day sunday before going home and this might do the trick.
