I haven't been out this year and always have parked at 27.7 in the past. They collect the trail fees at 19KM correct? How is the ride past there and how far down do they groom?

Thanks

Sorry missed this.
Was a great turn out, 135 sleds out for the rally, sold out banquet at 100.
2' of fresh, socked in and couldn't get on the lakes or glacier. Blue sky this morning, anyone going up today is in for a good day.

Parking at 19 this year, groom to the cabin once a week. Groom the rest of the trail twice a week

Sunday was not a banner day Darcy but it was definitely worth the price of admission and then some. Lot was as busy as I've seen it in a long time!
We went straight up to the back of the glacier in the morning. The light was hit or miss all day too. Changed goggles 12 times in the morning trying to find something to give some perception of the elevation changes. Dropped off the top of the glacier into the lakes and had absolutely crazy snow in whirlpool. Handle bar deep and the best time ever. Three large cans of gas packed in and still got back to the trucks on fumes. 145 km day was a good time!

Forster is officially closed and no grooming. Temps are hitting 10c and nights at -10
Do everyone a favor and stay home like the health people are requesting.

heard there was conflict of Albertans and locals at the shopping store in that area. hopefully people aren't out ravaging for supplies, seems ridiculous.

Did not hear anything about it but I know locals are frustrated with people coming out here when the health officials are asking them to stay home.

We have limited resources for health care and even groceries at the best of times. Additional people make it worse.

ok, so BC has more cases than alberta or saskatchewan, more deaths, et. and the idea is that people from the east are a greater threat for the spread in BC?

Im assuming the locals are frustrated with BC'ers coming into the area as well, right? of course they are,

just checking.

Parking will be at 27.7 km to start, moving back to 19k as snow builds.
There will not be any road maintenance on Forster service road this year. Horsethief fsr and Westside road will be plowed. We will try to groom from Dogleg lake when snow permitting.

Currently about 150-200 cms in the meadows, creeks are open not enough snow for bridges yet.

Trail fees will be in effect soon, as our only source of revenue we need every dollar to pay for the groomer repairs that were done this summer. It's ready to roll. Thanks in advance.

There are some parking lot changes at 19k. we have started construction of a snow cat shop, foundation is poured and marked. Please do not park in this area as the groomer will be parking there.

Additional parking on the west side of the road beside collection shack has been opened up for trucks and decks.

Trail Fees going to $20 this year to keep in line with other bcsa clubs.

Cabin may or may not be open for use depending on government direction. It will not be sanitized and no toilet paper. There is wood at wood shack for day use, Dave white hut users use your own wood!

Never knew this was a issue!![/QUOTE]The hut society stocks wood at the hut but sometimes it's wet, sometimes not enough, some people do not know and grab wood to use.
The hut is booked 7 days a week, lots of wood gets burned.
