How's the road doing with all the warm weather or will it be bone dry by opening this year?

Bare with mud holes like usual I imagine. The banks along the side are a good size this year to keep the moisture handy. Some stuff on FB about guys getting hit or trapped by small avys across the road right now.

Mid you don’t go this weekend, next weekend you’ll be dealing with mud holes I’d imagine. There was some good frost heaves this year on the bush road, it will be soft once the frost really comes out.

Had some buddies get stopped one night coming out by an avy that had blocked the road while they were in Hope Goodfellow which is the same road. They dug with avy shovels for 2-3 hours so they could pass through to get back to Golden. Funny thing. Two young guys in a lifted truck with a deck watched them do all the work then tooted their horn and drove through the passage and drove away. Never lifted a finger to help.

Thanks for the info!
That road is awesome lol. All part of the chatter experience. Seems like there is always a hard bottom in those bog holes on the road tho. Couple times I thought there is no F,ing way we are getting through this, but always manage to bounce and chew your way out!
wouldn't take much of a slide to push you off lakeside,
I think I would have told those kids if you want out tonight, take a turn on the shovel! If not I would've sat there and starved to death out of principle!! I'm old, I got no place I need to be! Lol

I have been up that road countless times and that has always been my biggest fear. Crazy story!

Not sure where the river he is taking about, but ya that stretch is a bad one. Where he was isn't the worst spot.

We have been to Hope countless times and chatter the last 10 years in a row. That rock cut is the most sphincter puckering section by far.

When we do hope, we always park at km 46. Many times we see the road covered on the way out. the sun warms the rocks above and the snow slips.

I'd rather sled over a slid area than dig for a couple of hours..

I'm STOKED for nest weekend!! WOOT WOOT Chatter baby..

Rode Hope on Friday (Apr 5) with the trailer, road was pretty good. A few greasy spots and heaves.

Any updates on the road?

On Friday it was still pretty decent. A couple of soft spots but nothing compared to other years. You really got to stay sharp for the dips. They can catch you off guard and launch your load. Some are marked with red flags but not all.
