hoar frost 1-2" size flakes in the alpine the last couple days is going to make for another nasty layer.
Geez when's this year from hell gonna give us some decent weather and conditions eh. Supposed to snow first of the week isn't it?

Hey pano-dude, was up forester last weekend, was so nice and sunny, was having a great time until I found a hidden gem and smacked it hard for being in the way, the rock won. So sketchy coming down thunderwater climb with a tied together spindal and a-arm. I should have just pushed the S0S button and had SAR bail me out, but decided I would just take responsibilty and get myself off the mountain. Not true actually, I didn't have enough rope and another sledder wouldn't leave until he helped me down the mountain, gave me some sweet climbing rope, without his help my rope wasn't going to hold. Thank you very Much who ever you were!!!

https://vimeo.com/311384639 Silent Pass, 30km of 3 foot woops, very little traffic as the groomer has been broken for weeks.

Man that looks like it was a great time! I seen a guy bounce off million dollar rock once time on an old edge chassis. Lost his brakes and a trailing arm and rode that thing all the way to the bush at the bottom. Had to change his shorts after but he did it. We kept yelling bail but he rode it out. Zip tied a branch to keep it sort of together and rode back to the trucks. 30 minutes into the day.
Your lucky you didn't smash anything else on that Impact!

A friend of mine pretty much wrote off a ZX chassis in that same area, he landed in the snow about a foot from another rock, happens bloody quick. Were you the guy straddled around the tree I helped briefly in silent? Damn magnetic trees

I hit one of those gems years ago making pow turns while downhilling from the lakes. Hit the rock, front flipped over the bars, then the sled ran me over
Didn’t get so lucky with the sled damage part but it was rideable

How were conditions in silent?

Silent was by far the best as it wasn't tracked out with tons of fresh lines everywhere, I found the snow conditions to be similar everywhere, hero snow but still great if you could find untracked areas. The groomer was broken so there was so little tracffic up silent last weekend and previously. It has since been fixed and groomed on the 15th so I Imagin silent will be tracked out hard by the end of the weekend. Gorman was just as good if you ventured far enough and made into cirque, still alot of wind blown areas in cirque where the snow got thin and rocks lay in wait for you.

Broke my spindal, a-arm etc on Forester the next day, no broken sled while riding the woops at silent, but might need a new shock package, swear it took two hours to get up to the alpine and the same back out, was worth it for me anyway was a great sunny day, couldn't get enough.

Last year was February 14 I believe. Think this year it would be the same but could be wrong. An article I just read said February 15
