Ha! I was surprised at how easy it broke,
Was good to meet you too. Snow was good up Paradise today, there was a good suncrust on south aspects but it softened up in the afternoon.
This was our crew today!

Parking at 27.7 still, trail is pretty icey and a couple dirt sections. After 33km it's in good shape. Groomed last week, groomer is at the wood shed so it will get groomed again soon.

Beauty sunny day on Saturday, parked around 33-34km, trail was good from there, lots of dirt below that. Hard pack on the lakes, about 2.5" on the glacier, just an awesome day of touring around though. My mom also came out with us and we got everywhere with minimal issues.

Another truck and trailer jack knifed on the hill up (that's 2 in 2 trips to forester), got him turned around and carried on. didn't look like any damage.

A guy in another broke the chain case on his nytro on top of the glacier, watched him go down the first two drops coming back down with no brakes, that was a hell of a piece of driving. He crested the second drop at about 40km/hr and when he hit the bottom of the second drop he couldn't make the corner, blew out through the rocks and we thought there was gonna be pieces of sled everywhere, somehow he never touched any of them, came to a stop just before rolling off the big decent down to the bottom. Musta scared the sh!t out of him cause he ended up leaving it there and going to get parts to fix it.

On a side note, I always thought riding on the north star glacier wasn't allowed?

Kinda like catamount used to be i guess...there's a north star cabin?
Yup pretty much. Kind of a stupid decision that it's shut down as they never use it for skiing and then half the time you poke the pass the whole thing is tracked out and its not good skiing anyways.
There's a cabin down off the bottom end of it in the bush. It's actually the old general store that used to be close to where the existing Forster cabin is. Matson picked it up with a chopper and dropped it in the valley that north star runs out into to the north of the sled shed.

Just moved to Invermere, looking to meet some sledders and get some rides in before this sledding season comes to a end.

Forecast looks good for next week.

Northstar glacier is quite flat and not great for skiing. Really no reason for it to be closed to sledders other than the old boys club that keeps digging in their heels but there is a new recreation officer starting soon. There is hope that the new person will have no personal ties to the non motorized group and will make a decision based on reality not friendships.

Grooming will continue until at least next week.

There is a group hosting an event next weekend, we're not sure how it's going to go but I expect lots of big air and crazy climbs.

Keep an eye out on things for me. Supposed to be out at dw end of the month for 3 nights. Hoping there will still be access over the creeks to get there. I feel like I've seen more snow there 3nd of may than when I was there a few weeks back.
