With all the new snow and avalanche conditions high i was wondering about the westbench trial. I rode it years ago before it was completed just wondering if thier would be enough snow to ride it as i think it would be a safer option for tommorrow. Any information is appreciated.

I was on the west bench trail on the 26th of Dec to break in a new motor & belts, it was safe, nicely groomed and had good snow cover. With the recent snow it should be even better.

Thanks for the information rsmorin1 I appreciate it. Just got into Golden roads weren’t to bad. Mostly sloppy. Lake Louse was the worst for snow covers and rough but by the time you get to Field it was wet again. Supposed to be sunny tomorrow!

Rode Silent. Was pretty busy. Wooped to **** now. Would have be nice if they had at least discounted the trail pass a bit. Snow was fantastic and surprisingly stable. Still some powder stashes to be found but I wouldn't bother until they groom it.

Thanks to whoever it was that picked up my SPOT on top of the ridge in Quartz yesterday, and handed it to my sister at the cabin. This is why I love the sledding community!

Hi guys I am from Calgary and am headed out to golden on Wednesday for a day trip. May be solo due to a friend having to possibly bail due to family health
is there anyone that would be open to letting a guy tag along for a day
couple years riding experience
riding a 850/doo/154 not looking to high mark but just get out and enjoy a day
or maybe a guy could point me in the right direction in the case anyone knows of anyone

Anyone been up Gorman lately? We are planning on coming out, doing Old man and possibly Gorman if it is worth it? Road up? how is it, good for trailers?

Thanks in advance.

My rant... it’s getting pretty sad at the silent pass booth now people. A lot of people are saying there riding the mines but heading up silent. Lady noted that it was a significant number of people and yet there was no one in the parking lot when we left.

enjoy your free ride for now, as far as I know next year you will be charged for going up silver mines as it will be groomed

Agreed oler1234, i was in the mines last weekend. When we went back in Sunday the ladies at the booth asked how many we saw up with us. There were 2 more come in behind us so 4 sleds in total. They said that they had roughly 70 paid to go into Silent and many said they were going to Silvermines, some apparently just drove in without stopping. Its pathetic really. Would have been interesting to see how many said they were going into the mines sunday because me and my riding partner were the only two in that day.

There are over dozen spots to sled off that road that are not part of Silent. The Club should move the toll booth further back. On weekends its pretty busy with guys icefishing at the various lakes as well. Id say most people that go to Silent due pay...

I agree there's way to much riding up there to be tolling guys and taking them at their word. Moving the booth up further won't be the solution cause then the girl sitting there all day will complain she had no cell service it it's all the way back up at 22km.
