now all quartz needs is a pole so we can see how deep it is and how much snow is falling on that new camera. downfall is i think it will not update during a 4 day cloud cover event but great job golden snowmobile club

Actually, there is no logging program up McMurdo, so staging from km17 this year. She's a LONG pull in this year. The club may even have to pay to plow up to 17.

Have a look today. They added a camera with a snow accumulation pole.

I think in the past the long drive from Parsons to km 46 kept a lot of the less serious folks from going to Silent, hitting Gorman/Quartz instead. If riding from km 17 there should be even less traffic up there which sounds fine to me. I’ll pack extra fuel.

Yes back in the day we parked at 17 and sometimes 22-25ish. It was hella long ride in, especially then. There was no grooming. And your right, there was a lot less people in the area that would put up with it. Now a days on these machines it’s really not that difficult.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to plow the road to 46km instead of grooming?
