The season has started. Cold and wet in the valley means white stuff up high.
The recent wet weather has dropped 40ish cms at the Paradise cabin. Forecast is for more wet weather over the next week.

There may have
been a meter at the top but even a meter doesn't fill in crevasses very good.

Just to the east of you and a few ranges over, I have an 8000' peak that I look at out one of my windows. On the south facing slope, there is no snow at all. There will be snow on the north facing slope but probably not that much. A lot cooler temps and then some much needed precip in the form of snow is required. It will be awhile yet........

Been raining up to 2000m some days in places and snowing at other locations. Nothing substantial in the forecast for the next week, more moto days ahead... it's tough living in bc:d

Haha ya pano I bet it's super tough.
The all knowing weather man is talking a little bit of precip the next few days but temps still look pretty mild. And those guys are never wrong.

Report of 30-60 cm base at the Forster cabin on the weekend.

Storm came through today and dropped about 5 cms in town.
Temps dropping tonight and staying below freezing to the weekend. Maybe winter has arrived....

5 degrees in town right now, Pano got 5cms of wet snow in the village.
Sled club and toby creek adventures had a battle with government last week when they closed Brewer to sleds. Thanks to them its open for winter use again.
Without them we would have lost an area. Support your local association.

Was a mapping error apparently. I'm not 100% sure what the closure was for but scary thing is was there was no notice, no consultation nothing.

There is lots of snow up high. Forster opens for business this weekend with staging at 27.7 until its too deep to drive, then back to 20km. No logging yet so the road will not be maintained. It is icy but manageable. Grooming will start soon.
Paradise is open for business and the trail has been groomed.

Has anyone been up forster to see where the snow is? I remember the one bank let go onto the road last spring so might be tough to get up there if the snow isn't below there. Can't remember what km that was at any more or hopefully someone pushed it out of the way over the summer.
