Hello all,

Just need some advice for a place to camp. ( ie the bush not serviced). My brother and family are looking for a nice place to ride and camp May long. We are new to AB like everyone else. Just looking for a place to pull in on Crown land with a bumper hitch toyhauler and camp the whole weekend. Looking for a place with maps if possible. We are coming from Fort Sask. I would travel 2-3 hours. I especially after some advice on where to camp and pull in without getting shot by some local whos land I'm on. Any one have any decent spots they would share with a newbie from MB.

Rocky , Nordegg ( fires ) , Hinton or Brazeau are all great places to ride. If you go near Brazeau watch for thieves.

One of the great areas to ride is the Hinton/Coal Branch. There is Camping /Staging areas in the Grave Flats/Ruby Creek Kiosk. You can visit
and ask for item ISBM:978-0-7785-8476-6, Pub. No I/353 Revised July 2009. This printed MAP is as good as it GETS, Better than most GPS Software. There is/are two ways to get there, one through EDSON/HINTON and the other through Edson to ROBB. via Hwy 47.

Still lots of areas to ride in the rocky/ nordegg area other than fall creek and bighorn areas and still no fire ban in the area yet
(Clearwater county) I bet by Wednesday there will be though

Nordegg needs the rain, as does the Rocky area I'm sure. If heading out towards Nordegg make sure you do your research on the current situations at Bighorn Dam before riding there...... It is CLOSED.
