Service antytheft Deterent system

Went to start truck and nothing happen,
display said Service Antytheft System!

Did this ever happen to you?
How did you get it fixed?

Call the rightful owner tell him where his truck is and walk away. lol

Took the words right out of my mouth... but its likely the stereo or the battery in your key...lol call the owners..i love it

I use both sets of MY keys and did not reconized them.
getting truck to dealer in the morning.

did you try to unhook battery and hook back up. just a thought might work

Sounds like the passlock is tripped. Sometimes you can turn the key to on and leave in on for 20 min to reset. (Most of the time it killed my batt) I put a charger on it just in case. After the 20 min don't turn it off, turn it to start. My problems were from a car starter in the end.

oh yeah hey try this then get in the truck make sure the doors are locked. put your e-brake on......then try to start it with your command start first. im thinking that the unit may have f-ed and it need to have all permissives cleared before start is initiated

Thanks, I did try that and for 15min did not work, but if I put key in real fast and turn to start will turn over 2 time or so and once it reads the key
the truck will just shut down.

Well this is the first thing that happen, could be worst.

My '01 GMC did that to me once. I shut the remote starter off (little toggle switch under the dash) and left it for an hourish. Fired right up again. I don't get it, but it worked.

I have a Viper (old style, non-2 way). Never had a problem before, or since.
