Enclosed Trailer Floors

The enclosed trailer I have has treated plywood on the floor. Looking for some ideas / suggestion on what can be put on the floor as some type of coating to make the traler look finished. Does anyone have any ideas of what to use or not to use ?

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Porch and floor enamel its like a hard paint thats tintable to any color and if you lather on 3 or so coats it'll look really smooth. Or how about a roll on bed liner, or cherckerplate alum or chercker flooring depends what your using the trailer for

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

I heard lego blocks work really good......... Just kidding........ I agree with the above. Ski skegs will eventually wear through a non treated floor. Treated floors will last longer, for sure. Best is a "coated" floor of some type, like "rhino liner" or something like that, but it's very pricey!!!

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Ive had mine done now for 4 years, Armorthane. But they would not warantee unless I got them to put a special coating before the armorthane, and I dried the floor in all areas to a relitive humidity of 6% all over. Since im in the Flood and Fire business, that wasn't hard. Not a problem yet and my trailer gets used alot.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

We borrowed a trailer last winter that had painted floors, never again. All of our gear is covered in paint flecks along with our sleds. Slippery as well.

On our own trailer we use Superglides to keep wear and tear from the ski's to a minimum and the rest of the floor is just treated with wood preserver.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Ive had my sled trailer since 04 and the floor seems fine the back door wood might be a bit scratched up but thats it.Its a charmac trailer I dont know if the wood was treated or not.Putting a flooring in to me seems like a complete waste of money.Sure the floor looks good in summer but how about when all the snow melts of your sled and freezes to the floor does it really matter. If you have a heater it will just be wet 24/7 unless you leave it on for half the night.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Thanks Transporter for the information. My floor is treated plywood. My trailer does not have a heater so maybe leave the floor and put Superglides on the floor.
