you guys won't beleive this

The cops said with luck like this I should start buying lottery tickets.

Two Sundays ago I was driving around hiunting(spotting deer) , we had that snow the night before. I was driving north of Calmar on rge rd 502a and I saw a sled in the ditch, I thought oh cool a sled.

It got closer and I noticed it was purple.....it got closer and I noticed it was purple and yellow... a 670......with a dent in the front.

This sled was stolen from my dad ( I lent it to Dad when I was working in Dubai) from the driveway at the lake in 2005. It drove by me for about quarter mile. I got out of the truck with my rifle (no guys i wasn't gonna shoot him)

I made it look like a deer was in the treeline on the other side of the road. The sled turned around and went into a farm, so I waited three or 4 minutes then drove into the farm. The kid had the hood up messing with it, and while I wanted to strangle him I asked him for hunting permission...he went into the house to ask permission from his dad and while he did that i scanned the sled and I KNEW it was mine . The kid came out a minute later saying I couldn't hunt.. I just wanted to kill him... I left and called the RCMP they got a warrant and seized it the next day. I had to head to Houston then the middle east the next day. I bet the little ba$tard crapped his pants when two police cars showed up

Did he add a nice boss seat to it, maybe some new pipes... did he even polish the tunnel at least?

Good to Hear that you got the Sled back!

Re: you guys won't beleive this

Ah it is far too early to do that, first i need it back in my garage, the cops called me when he was standing in front of the sled and i was telling him as i was looking at computer pictures of it,

he said the serial number was defaced but how i described the dents, missing caps on the ski struts, etc he said "ok based on your description i am seizing it" but he said auto theft had to be called in.

i wonder what happens if they cant find hidden numbers...if any exist... are there hidden numbers on a sled????

Hope they throw the book at him!!! But of course he will probably be a minor so he will have to be treated with kid gloves and patted on the head and told "There There its all right just don't do thar anymore okay" In my books if the little sweet hearts can figure out how to perform a criminal act then they should be treated as an adult criminal. Of course we have to wait and see if he is the actual person who stole the sled but he was in possesion of a stolen vehicle

As a 16 year old my self, I can not agree with this post anymore.

I see the effects of the lack of discipline every single day at school, in relation to teenagers and crime.

If a person steals a car once, telling them not to do it again IS NOT GOING TO STOP THEM FROM DOING IT AGAIN. Worse punishments need to be put in place so that people will stop doing this. They do it because they know that they can get away with it. They don't care if they get caught because they know nothing is going to happen to them. A slap on the wrist ...

(Although, let's not paint all teenagers with the same brush)

Re: you guys won't beleive this

How does a kid end up with a fairly expensive item like that without the parents knowing where it came from? Do you let your kids ride unregistered, uninsured motor vehicles? Might have been the Dad getting a "great deal" on a sled for the kid.

I was thinking that very same thing......Someone or ones other than the kid taking all the heat ?? Sure we will hear how this one plays out !

Re: you guys won't beleive this

It's possible the kid bought it and didn't know it was stolen.
Just saying that it's possible that he's a victim too. If he's not then hopefully this is a chance for him to learn. And since he's 16, they should charge the parents. If my daughter came home with a sled and the numbers were scratched off, she wouldn't get to ride it until I knew it was legal.

Serial numbers scratched off is not a good sign but you never know.
Criminals usually have a way of explaining away details like that.

I'm sorry officer, I didn't realize the rifle was loaded, it just went off. I didn't mean to shoot him in both feet.
Makes you wonder about the parents?
