Did anybody have anything delivered so it was closer to pick it up? Wife found a van in Texas, but not 2 sure about cost of shipping compared to the cost of flying down and driving it home. What fees are charged at the border. Thanks Mark ![]()

![]() | Re: Vehicles from the US A buddy at work brought up a camaro from Georgia. Cost him $2500.00 for shipping with C-rail right to Sherwood Park. He used a broker to deal with all the border stuff and said it was worth the cash. They looked after everything and included the gst in their cost. Not sure what the broker cost him though. |

It will cost about $1000 to ship a vehicle to the sweetgrass/coutts border crossing from anywhere in the US. Don't bother with using a broker it takes about 15 min. to do the paperwork and is not worth paying someone $250-$400 to do it for you. Kelly

![]() | Re: Vehicles from the US Agree with you on the broker. Paperwork and border stuff is pretty easy from what I have been looking into. Don't forget to check the Canada Customs website as there was a piece on the news last night about a lot of vehicles being added that are not admissable to Canada. Some 2008 GM SUV's are on there. It would suck to pay the cash in the U.S and then not be allowed to bring it into Canada. |

![]() | Re: Vehicles from the US I fly out tomorrow to pick an '05 Touareg from Vegas. All you need to do is ensure that the border crossing folks have a copy of the title and thier "worksheet" filled out and submitted to them 72hrs before you arrive with the vehicle. I am getting an "In Transit" pass from the DMV in Vegas which will carry me to the border. I also have an "In Transit" pass obtained from our registries which will take me from the border home. I provided my insurance company with the VIN number and purchase information and they sent me a temporary pink card which covers off the insurance requirements. All I can say is the hour of paperwork is well worth the $20,000 in savings. |

![]() | Re: Vehicles from the US Here is a link and some docs for more info. These spell the whole process out for you and gives the list of vehicles inadmissable to Canada. Some surprises on there for 2008 vehicles so check before you try to bring them across or in the words of CBSA you must destroy or export the vehicle at your expense. http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/impor...list/VAFUS.pdf Also check the CBSA website they have a handout for importing requirments if you just search on their website for vehicles |
