tractor stolen

got a phone call from the brother yesterday .. turns out some one tried (drunk i might add) to borrow his tractor to pull himself out of a ditch .... heading down the lane with tractor ... train stopped on tracks
apparently they thought they hit this guys truck ..... decides to head around the train ... heads east along tracks comes to front of train thinks he can get over the embankment .... drives up the embankment that is too steep for said tractor ... rolls over backwards doing severe damage to tractor cab also ran upside down for a while ....luckily the idiot wasnt hurt ( untill the brother got a hold of him --- if he did get a hold of em it wouldnt of been nice) so needless to say spring seeding is on its way and that was the tractor that pulled the seeder ....

Re: tractor stolen

Wow that sucks was it some one who lived close or do you have any idea who it was! What a joke!! Did this tractor have a cab on it or was it open air? Hopefully a neighbor can lend him a tractor to get the crops in, or better yet go to JD and ask about demoing one for a couple...days!

Re: tractor stolen

I think a good punishment for the idiot that stole the tractor is to tie a 50lb bag of seed around his neck and make him broadcast 80 acres of seed by hand then in the fall have him come and cut the crop done with one of those big heavy siths (sickle) then stuke into bundles what he cut done all by hand; you get the picture, he might think long and hard before he tries another stupid stunt like that again!!!!

Re: tractor stolen

unreal! good to hear it sorta turned out well, maybe your brother will get a new tractor out of the deal.

A similar thing happened up here a few years ago, a young fella drove his grandfathers' Dodge dually diesel onto a razorback trail in the river hills that got narrower as you went down it and got the truck hung up on the narrow ridge at 2am on a saturday night. so he walked 3 miles back to town and "borrowed" an IT25 Cat loader from a local construction company. when he drove the loader down the razorback, he got off the trail and rolled the loader no less than 4 times down a very steep embankment down to a creek. the only thing that saved his life was that he was ejected from the cab before it hit the bottom of the ravine.
the guy that bought the loader from the insurance co. had to disassemble the loader into 5 small enough pieces that a chopper could lift them out of the ravine, after the loader sat there for almost 2 years.

I don't understand how some of these young folks think nowadays.....some of them have absolutely no respect for others property.
