No diesel????

I went to fuel up at the Flying J in the west end today and they were out of Diesel, and there`s a long weekend coming up. I wonder what this will do tho the prices. Anyone else notice any shortages in the city.

maybe their truck was just running late to deliver? did you question them about it or is it a cardlock plant?

I fuel in Blackfalds they were out too.

yep drayton valley,red deer, airdrie, calgary flying j's were all out of clear diesel. And they wouldnt sell me dyed cause they had no clear. But ya diesel is 1.009/L in Airdrie tonite as i just put $115 in the old dodge.

It`s a card lock. I went inside and ask about the pump not working. that`s when they said they had no fuel. I told them( in what I thought was a nice way) that they should put a "No Fuel" sign up so people would know. The guy started to bitch at me. He told to go phone Flying J`s about the problem. I said to him, "I`m not being a A**hole about it, it would be nice to know about it before I ran my card through and waited, then came inside and stood in line, just to be told there is no fuel". He apoligized and said he was going to put one up. He had it up before I drove away.

I've run into this no diesel thing a few times in last couple months. They tell me there was a refinery somewhere that burned down.

Good thing all the rigs aren't working like 2 years ago or we would be thumbing down the road.

Shell announced on the news this morning that there Scotford plant was operating at limited capacity due to the cold weather and it will affect the production and distrubition of Diesel Fuel for the next while. Im sure that will have an effect that will be reflected at the pumps.

My guess is that with the drop in "price per barrel" results in a planned shortage to keep the pump price higher....got to love the oil companies.

Cold weather the past while has had some bad effects on the local refineries. With the high humidity and cold temperatures, instrumentation has been brought to it's knees, thereby bringing down units within the refineries, limiting production ability and increasing an already tight market supply. Add to that all the problems ESSO has been having with leaks, break downs and what ever else is going on! Did anyone see ESSO's flare the past several days? Not a good sign!

I filled up tonight at the UFA cardlock in Red Deer (Gasoline Alley). $0.89/L

I guess theres no shortage here.

Wow, $0.89/L is a good price. I paid at the pumps in Gasoline Alley not that long ago $1.09/L
