| Re: CTV News Found Stolen Sleds Mon, November 26, 2007 Cops seize $500,000 in stolen goods Two Alberta men are facing charges of possessing stolen property following a raid near Leslieville and the seizure of goods worth $500,000. RCMP officers from Sylvan Lake, Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House combined to raid an acreage just outside Leslieville, 194 km southwest of Edmonton. Among the items they recovered were 28 new Bombardier snowmobiles, a Kenworth truck, a flatbed trailer and an 18-metre Sea-Can cargo container. "This property was stolen from the industrial area of Calgary between Nov. 17 and Nov. 19," Sylvan Lake RCMP Sgt. Duncan Babchuk said. Babchuk said the seized items would be returned to their owners, which include a Calgary trucking company, Canadian National railway and two motor-sports distributors in south-central Alberta. But he added the RCMP and Calgary Police Service are continuing to investigate the theft and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Stanley Hake, 53, of Leslieville and Jerome Matthew Boake, 41, of Eckville, were charged with four counts each of possessing property obtained by crime.

I'm also glad they found other stolen property, another win for the Police. Hope the charges stick and these boys get to bunk with "Big Bubba" the lonely cell mate. |
