turbo in a phazer?

I picked up an 07 Phazer mtn lite last year, and after one ride to Valemount/Blue River I decided it wouldn't cut it(just not enough track speed). However, I wasn't willing to put the money into a turbo at the time because of the mixed results they seem to have been getting. I'm curious if that has changed over the last year? Would anyone be comfortable saying that putting a turbo in a Phazer would be reliable? and has the price changed at all for the mcx turbo's?

My only alternative would be to sell it stock, and pick up another stock machine with more ponies, but I really enjoy how nimble this machine is! Ideally, I'd like to be convinced I would be more than happy with a turbo. Any thoughts?

Re: turbo in a phazer?

Check out boondockers.com . They have a turbo for a Phazer. You'd have to contact them for pricing. It sounded like on there site that the remaining Phazer turbos are going to be sold and they won't build anymore.

Re: turbo in a phazer?

Man.. it's a tough decision. Would the weight gain be worth it even with a Turbo? and the price point.. I'm not sure if it's sensible to drop 5 grand(I'm guessing?) for a turbo, when I could probably sell the machine this year and pick up something with an equal power output for less.

I really like what I've seen from the turbo in it, but I've "heard" a lot of bad stories as well.. Is there a high risk of killing the engine?

I guess what I really want to know is, will it be reliable?
