High Oil consuption on 99 600 RMK

My 600 uses at least double the oil it should, put a new throttle/oil cable on and still have the pump backed right off. the mark is 3/8" past where it should be. any ideas? posssibly a new oil pump??

sounds like your oil pump has a bad spot,had this happen to my 98 700 rmk,take your pump off and move it manually back and forth feel if there is a rough spot or a spots thats sticks,it it does probably the pump is bad.

Replace the pump. It wears a groove in the shaft. Only fix is a replacement. Don't forget to bleed the new pump.
