![]() | 3.0" vs the 2.5" Camo Extreme Just need people's opinions on the 3" Track...Pro's and cons let me hear it all. Got my Avid chaincase on the way...I was leaning towards the 2.5" as I thought the 3" would be too much of a track, but now I might be leaning towards the 3"? Anybody have anything bad to say about them? It's a pretty big lug but I don't know if their is such a thing as having to much track? Track will be a Camoplast Maverick Extreme 16" wide going into the sled listed below.

![]() | Re: 3.0" vs the 2.5" Camo Extreme It's been debated several times before...not what i want to get into on this post other threads have pages and pages on what track is better. I've just decided to go with the Camo X as IMO it is the best track for my riding style. All I'm looking for on imput is the 2.5" vs the 3.0" and if the 3.0" lug is negative in anyway. Thanks

P.S. im putting a Camo Extreme 2.5 on my sled.....Best track for my riding style.... just me 2 cents...... ![]()

![]() | Re: 3.0" vs the 2.5" Camo Extreme It takes a pile of power to turn a 3" track. Not bad on a good flat climb, but throw some bumps in the way and the load and unload factor is huge, takes alot to recover from that. Just my 2 cents ![]()

I am debating putting on a 3" x 174 or a 2.5" x 174 on my rt1000. I have talked to camoplast reps and tracks usa and tracks canada as well as several mod shops, and i am now leaning toward the 2.5" lug just because long trail rides tend to be tearing up the 3" tracks........ The 3" track has no warranty at all, whereas the 2.5" tracks have a warranty. I suspect long groomed trails like up renshaw, or eagles pass(where you might have 20+kms of trails) will cause some track damage, simply because the track isn't getting the necessary lubrication from the snow required to keep the track cool and prevent peeling.....it will be harder on sliders too. I have toyed with the idea of putting another set of snow scratchers to help aid this problem........keep us informed as to your decision.

![]() | Re: 3.0" vs the 2.5" Camo Extreme I have one and love it 1000 km and still looks like new. I wouldn't put one on an 600 lol Basically ask yourself when the last time you powered out climbing a hill with your sled or the last time u spun out. I dont think you can have to much traction in snow. Every time ive ever gone to a bigger track what ive lost in track speed has been worth it because of the ground speed you gain. |

![]() | Re: 3.0" vs the 2.5" Camo Extreme So far the pro's vs cons is leading towards the 2.5"... you guys have some very valid points...lugs ripping off, overheating the track, not having the power ie: turbo. No warranty is a big one. This is all steering me back towards the original plan of the 2.5" Thanks for your imput guys apreciated.
