Icon33 144" x 2" - 16" wide: 700 RMK 1999

Change of plans, I've found a 144" x 2" - 16" wide track off a Ski Doo but before I consider buying it I was wondering if anyone has put one under a 1999 700 RMK or maybe there is a link off another site with info.

1. Will it fit?
2. Do I need to grind rivits?
3. Will I need different drivers (new pitch)
4. Any other problems I might encounter?

Any insight would be appreciated as I would like to make a decsion this weekend.

Track goes on the 700 in the attached picture. 700 in front of summitric and his new baby...RT 1000

We called Specialty and Mountian Magic a month ago about the question. We had to replace a track on a '01 151"X. They said the 16" would fit but basically any nuts/bolts/rivets etc that protrude inside the tunnel would need to be ground down. I would just make a couple of calls to performance shops and you will have a definate answer real quick. He just bought a new 15"x151" from Tracks USA so we never ended up having to find out what all was involved.

Unhappy Make It Fit

Okay Easterbunny, Make It Fit..... I Read It On Snowwest A While Ago, Sorry, But I Couldn't Find The Link. I Know They Did A Little Grinding, And I'm Sure The Drivers Had To Be Changed As The Pitch On The 16" Track Is 3.0" And Your Old 15" Is Probably 2.52", I Believe. Will Keep Looking For That Link.

I've seen guy's do this, I was going to do the same to my wifes 2001 summit 800 renagade 136. I bought her this sled to learn on then figered it would be a easy swap. By the time you buy all the stuff she would have to ride this thing for ever to make it worth while. Cheaper/easier to sell it and buy the right sled with the right track, plus it's much easier to sell a stock sled than one with a bunch of mods that you dont hear of every day. Dont mean to rain on your project ,all Iam saying is price it all out ,then grab a bike boat & rv trader and see what you can upgrade to. Factor in your time as well, get a total and add 10 -20 percent cause there is allways something that you have to buy that you dont think of. LOL

I have an '02 700 I put a 144X2@2.3 Camo into. When buying a track, do you have extro's? If so, make sure the track is open every window, or you have to cut them out. If you put in extros go to 8 tooth to gear down a little and make room for deeper lugs. Will have to cut the rail tips down and RE-INSTALL THE CAPS. Measure your tunnel frt/ rr. Mine is 16-3/8 i.d. same as a rev that comes w/ 16". Had to grind down excess from all rivets and installed 2 washers at rear hangers. When pressing on the new drivers, they have to be PERFECT to prevent rack from wandering. Takes about 2 days of hill riding to get tension/ alignment right. But man, when its good, its great!! Your sled will be catwalking lots when you crest a hill, so tighten up them limiter straps and hold on!!

Sledbunny I have a 93 XLT with a brand new motor (SLP parts) SLP pipes triple, new water pump and I had a 144" 2" track put on it. It is white, purple and blue. The best part about it is the skull and cross bone stickers on the tunnel and clutch cover. It is light and we call her the "White Rocket". It was my first sled, I have all the receipts. No one could catch me on her. If your interested I can e-mail you some pics. No one rides her anymore and she sits in my backyard, she needs some lovin.
