XTR mudlites sidewall damage

hi there, i have a set of 26" mudlites with sidewall damage. its about a 1 inch gash. its patched from the inside, holds air (apparently) should i run a tube inside and run an external patch as well??

I would run a tube......I heard of guy stitching up gashes with thick fishing line to try to hold it together longer

Untill you pop your tube. I would not recommend a tube unless you want your valve stem ripped off, then what would you do in the bush, install another tube?
Go out and buy the new tire or find a used tire.
