| 500 efi head leak hey my motor on my 06 500 sportsman has been leaking for some time. i heve changedd the head gaskets but still leaks. every now and then i need to re torqe them. jist wondering if anyone has any idea wahts up

| Re: 500 efi head leak The 500s are notorious for warpped heads. Only needs to be overheated once or torqued wrong once. There is a very specific torque sequence that must be followed, especially for the jug. Remove the head and check it and the top of the jug for warpage. Off the top of my head .002 is the limit. The head will tolerate up to .010 milling if need be. Another problem is aftermarket head gaskets tend to leak on these engines. Use an OEM gasket for best results.
