![]() | oil recommendation I was wondering what oil most recommend for a King Quad 750? I was contemplating Amsoil, Mobil 1 or the Suzuki oil in 10w40. Not that it is a big deal, but there is a big price difference between the different choices. I have no problem paying $20 a litre for Amsoil, but if Mobil 1 is just as good, it is almost half the price. Not sure what the Suzuki oil costs. |

![]() | Re: oil recommendation Where did you find Amsoil for $11 a litre? It is $19 at Can tire in my city. I can afford the Amsoil, but Mobil 1 is $6 a litre less. So I figure if it is as good, why pay more. I will be in Alberta in two weeks. If I can get Amsoil for $11 a litre I will pick up extra. I do not like the idea of extending change intervals, even with premium oils that say you can. Mechanics I know talk about seasonal oil changes if you do not hit the recommended distance. Things to do with condensation due to cold starts and a few other things. So I will be changing at the recommended intervals regardless of the oil I use.

![]() | Re: oil recommendation You are right. The amount of oil a quad uses is no big deal price wise. Just wanted to know what people thought was the best and if Amsoil was worth the extra money. I have not used Amsoil in my truck because I am not sold on the extended drain interval thing. And $250 for oil 4 or 5 times a year with the amount of driving I do is starting to get expensive.

![]() | Re: oil recommendation An oil change every 10 days!!! 500+ km a day? Wow, I only average 100 km a day, 35,000 a year. All I am saying is that I am not sold on extened oil change intervals. I have talked to a few mechanics and done a little research and figure I will keep within the manufactures recommendations regardless of what oil I use. My truck actually has a severe oil change interval of 12,000 km, but I have never gone more than 8,000 km, and most of the time I change at 6000 km. Of interest, it is actually 12,000 km or 3 months. I think there is more significance to the 3 months than most realize, (condensation due to cold starts and seasonal issues). Once again based on what I have heard. I am not a mechanic, so I try to listen and find out what sounds good to me. Really all I want to find out is what most people are running in the King Quad. $10, or $20 a litre is not a big deal to me, but really, why spend the $20 if the $10 is just as good. Also maybe someone may have a recommendation other than Mobil 1 or Amsoil.
