| Revy May 2 & 3 ride report Well this was my last ride for the season so Ed and I headed out to Revy on Saturday. For our first day we decided to ride Begbie. It was a beautifull day with not a cloud in the sky. We had a nice ride up except were the willows were coming up I got close and personal with a rather large tree but after breaking two saw blades managed to get going again. I think we will have been the last people in Begbie for the season as the willows and creeks are opening up big time. We had an excellent day as we had the whole place to ourselves with not a track in sight. As the day warmed up the snow softened nicely so we could safly do some climbing. We played all day with only a little carnage. I pulled this steep hill and made it to the top were I was lucky enough to stop with my skis dangling over a cliff. As I started sliding backwards down the hill I tried to dig her in but it was way to steep so I hit the kill switch, stepped aside and watched her roll and endo down the mountain. It looked like she was going to stop but she had rolled onto her skis so now I watched as she ghost rode through some trees breaking a five incher and then barely missing Ed as he was on his way up to see if I was OK.It was a very lucky situation as nobody got hurt and all I had to do was reattach my windshield. On Sunday we awoke to a very overcast Revelstoke with rain in the forecast for the day.But as this was our last day sledding for the season we decided to head up Frisby. We parked at KM. 3 and as we headed up the skies cleared up and in the end we were the only people on the mountain. It was a gorgous day we rode past the green tower and played around there for a while but it was not as warm as the day before so the snow was a lot harder than the day before. We played all the way back to the cabin climbing everything way to easily and way to fast it was truely hero snow. We had no carnage on this day though. If you plan on going out this month I would bet that the conditions at Frisby will be good for the month. We heard from some locals that the trail to Boulder was in terrible shape with gravel riding where as we rode nothing but snow at Frisby. On our Sunday ride I took no pictures as I had left my camera at the truck because of being overcast but I won't make that mistake again. So happy riding to all you die hards and I would be joining you but due to not working this winter it is time to be concentraiting on work for me. There is still good conditions in Revy so ride on. Cheers, Dave |
