Exclamation 650 brute intermitant engine problems

the engine will run awesome then with no warning will run like it has a intake restriction. checked vacumn slides for cracks or pin hole(good) no intake restriction, removed air filter to watch carb slides, they will not slide into carb body. it acts like the timing will not advance. i diconnected the neg. grnd. hooked it back up and ran great for a few hours then went into the same condition again. possible igniter box or crank sensor , no codes are stored . any ideas , all dealers are stumped.

Re: 650 brute intermitant engine problems

Slides aren't going to move until you hammer on it as they are vacuum operated.

Have you tried swapping in a new set of plugs changed cdi? Could be a number of things, what have you tried so far?

How new is it. New Kawis are set up to act "retarded" after so many hours/miles to make sure they are taken in for their first service. But, any dealer would realize this.

Re: 650 brute intermitant engine problems

I would install a dyna tek cdi. Cheaper than a kawi cdi and is uasually the first upgrade that kawi owners do. sounds like electronic failure to me.
