![]() | Yamaha warrior K so i shattered the bearings inside the rear hub and broke a chain, big whoop right so i decide not to skimp out and get a whole new rear hub, with the new bearings, seals and chain. I put it all together, snug up the chain to the recomended 30 mm of free play and take her out, i Probably got 1.5 hours on it when i blow this new chain and it comes smashing into my guard around my sproket which is connected to my case. Luckily it broke only a paice of it off, Get another new chain and go, after maybe 10 minutes agin the chain snaps and smashes into the guard and tears the whole thing off leaving a sizable hole in my case. I know a welder quite well and he says he can fix that up for me, and weld on a new guard but my concer is why do i keep snapping chains left and right, whats the underlying issue here? Its a 1996 yamaha Warrior. any input is appreciated. Thanks

![]() | Re: Yamaha warrior The Chain i use (well used) I got from the local arctic cat dealer. Not sure of the brand name, its not an issue with play because i do as you do when installing the chain i make sure there is play when the suspention is compressed, and my manual sayd 30-40 mm of free play, i was right in the money with about 38 mills. I was wondering if i could fab up a guide running from my engine sprocket down to the axle or would that cause some problems once the suspention is down?

![]() | Re: Yamaha warrior i would suspect something is out of alignment, whether it is motor twisting or the rear axle, or something is shifted sideways a bit like the axle or motor isnt centered
