![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just a thought I was just thinking it would be nice if dealerships included a free avalanche course with the purchase of a new sled. maybe they could even offer a free gear upgrade kit similar to buying a new truck but instead of chrome or covers you get a probe or shovel. maybe a discount on an abs pack. I know its not really free just hidden in the price. but it would be nice to include something with a new sled to keep our friends and familys safe. there would probably be alot more guys on the hill atleast with avalanche training. maybe the governmernt will take notice one day and pitch in for some of the training costs. I guy can dream. I know that if I bought a new sled I would be broke and probably skip the ave course but I wouldn't mind if it was included in the price of the sled. the cost would be like 1% anyway its just a thought

I think the Manufacturers have to get on board. You look at Doo and Poo, they offer avalanche equipment for under the hood or on the tunnel... do they have any idea how important it is to have the gear on your body?

![]() | Re: Just a thought I think we are going to have to make avy training mandatory. You can't own a gun, or drive a car, or do many other things without proper training. We were forced to mandate things like seatbelts and helmets for people to stupid to use them. I'm all for a law that says you can't register your sled without an AST Level 1 certificate. Its coming...it has to. Without it, its just more ammo for anti-sledding groups to get areas closed down. |

![]() | Re: Just a thought The price for an avy course is alot less than a weekend of riding. All as you need to do is invest in the training instead of the fuel, food, & accomodations for one weekend out of the whole season. This is your responsibility, not the manufacturers or the governments. How much is the rest of your life worth to you and the ones that love you? We spend so much money on the gear it takes to go riding, why not spend an Extra couple of hundred bucks for the knowlege of what to look for when you are out riding? |

![]() | Re: Just a thought Hey there Flange99 Don't get me wrong I agree I would have no problem with the idea. Anyone going to the mountains should be trained. I love mountian riding and would chose it anytime over any other riding. Now here is the but. How many flatlanders would that please to have to pay for something they will never use. Just making this note as I have a buddy who will never go to the mountains but loves to ride just on flat ground (his pair are in his wifes purse where it is fuzzy and warm and admits that freely). That is his choice not to go to the hills. So as a hole hopefully we as a sledding community can come up with something that will work but your idea yeah not a bad one just might upset some fellow sledders. I think they should just tack it onto the price and go from there. I mean when I buy a sled, I would rather get something I could use, like the avy training, rather than a lousy leather jacket with checkers... ![]()
