Re: Avalanche Awareness

Hopefully this will be a section where we can learn valuable information, learn from others experiences and mistakes, and not a place to bash those who have had unfortunate or life changing experiences.

Whether decisions made in the past were good or bad, we can all learn from them. Information on avalanche events and pictures will help the rest of us make better and more informed decisions. People see different things when they look at a powder covered hill, we need to learn to see the danger.

No one leaves home planning to lose family or friends on the trip. After the horrible start to this year, lets help each other prevent any more lives from being lost.

If everyone would watch these tyoes of video's maybe just maybe they would reconcider some of there actions when it come to enjoying the back country

Re: Avalanche Awareness

Hey all. Nice to see an avi forum on your site. I used to do quite a bit of sledding, but these days I spend most of my back country time on skis. So I spend a fair bit of time with my nose in snow pits and I enjoy avi/ snow pack discussions.

Anyway I liked this video...at least it had a happy ending. Check out the you tube video at the beginning of the first post.

Take care everyone and be safe out there.
