![]() | Winter oil I have a 03 Kodiak and a 03 Vinson. I always run 10/40 ATV oil in the summer. Never any problems, both bikes run great. My question is I also run these bikes in the winter therefore i like to put a lighter oil in. There doesn't seem to be a 10/30 ATV oil available. Lately I'm putting in 10/30 Castrol. I'm not a fan of synthetic oil. Anybody who has an opinion on this would be appreciated. |

Have seen sum vinson trouble that u do not want to mess with. Go to ur local Suzuki dealer and get the Suzki brand 5w30 (red label) if u dont want Synthetic, or if u want go Suzuki brand semi synthetic 5w30.

![]() | Re: Winter oil There is no difference in cold cranking between a 10W-40 and a 10W-30. If you want a thinner oil for winter you need to go with a lower ?W, 5W or 0W. The number before the W is the cold weather viscosity of the oil at 0°F, the other number is the viscosity at 210°F.
