Can-Am no brake lights

Where do they get the power to run the brake lights. No power on the 20 amp fuse in the fuse box. Also because no brake light will not start in gear. Help please Thanks

I'm in the same boat glen. Haven't had time to look into it yet so hopefully someone chimes in. I thought it might be something to do with the sending unit on the brake line junction block

changed my sendinding unit in may on my outty 800 lasted 3 months ....gone again....will see if martin south will warranty the part.i put it in myself.if not,$65.00 fix seems to be a common problem seen quite a few outty's and gades with no brake lights....

check for power at the sending unit....on the proportioning valve,just below the front d shaft...with the key on,i believe the red wire is the hot wire
probably the sending unit

update on brake light problem....talked to dealer...told sorry 3 month warrant on parts purchased over the counter.for $65.00 plus gst,we will gladly sell you another sending unit.i said no thanks! i went to my tickle box and got the same sendding unit out of an old hyster forklift and installed it.ibrake lights work and outty will start in gear if you step on the brake.

o by the way....the hyster switch only costs $12.00

big difference for the same part....

Oh ya thanks I forgot about this problem all together. Where can I buy a Hyster switch ?

hyster forklift dealer in edmonton is wajax

1/8 pipe thread fitting,could probably source it out at a local parts supplier if the parts guy has the patience to look....if you have any troubles,pm me and i will get you a part # and a phone number for wajax...

Ya...you can get an Ehlin part from NAPA for 8 bucks or so. It's the brake light switch from a 68 Ford Falcon I believe....I have the PN at home. Takes all of 37 seconds to change it out. On #3 now.
