2" Highlifter lift kit

Looking for some feedback on anyone who has tried the Highlifter kits for a long term test. My biggest concerns would be things like extreme premature wear on the cv axles and the quad becoming unstable at higher speeds. I also dont want to be replacing axles every 500 miles due to the sharper angles. I`m basicly looking for more ground clearance for my Sportsman 800. My 28`s fit just fine now but the quad strugles getting over larger logs where the extra clearance would be helpful.

Re: 2" Highlifter lift kit

the HL kit is junk. friends of mine have it and they got brackets everywhere. the quality stinks. check out rubberdown customs - atv lift kits and accessories he has the best quality lifts you can find. plus they are 10x easier to install over the hl. his lift lifts the rear 1.5" and you can get 1.5", 2" or 3" for the front. I would just go with 1.5". look at the pic of his lift. it is 2 hole bolts and small brakcets for the back. where hl is like 10 bolts and a hole bunch of braces. plus he makes them himself and he is in canada. shipping is quick to.

Ya this kit looks pretty good Do you know anyone using it? It looks much lighter than the HL kit. I was checking the HL kit out at a dealer and I bet it weights 10 + lbs. Thanks..

Re: 2" Highlifter lift kit

i ran it for about a year. the only reason i took it off is because a lift didn't meat my riding style. i am a member on the rubberdown site so i know all the guys on there running it.

Re: 2" Highlifter lift kit

The wife's bike has the 1.5/2" rubberdown and it is awsome. Very nice kit and looks stock, unless you know what you are looking at. Really stiffens up suspension too. The only complaint is the angle of the rear axles, little hard on cv boots.

How many miles does your dad have on his sportsman since he put the kit on? I`ve been told by a few people now that the stock axles are crap and I would break one in under 500 miles.

Re: 2" Highlifter lift kit

the rear axles will give you no problems. it is the front ones. in the time i had my lift i only broke 1 front cv axle. my fault. i sat there spinning trying to pull someone out and then the tires grabbed. all really depends on your thumb. the harder you are on the throttle the more likely you are to brake axles.

Well, with 28" Outlaws and a heavy thumb I`m sure to break one or two.....
