08 Polaris 400HO electrical problem

Hi, I went for my first run this year and found when I turn on my headlights the engine stall and display blacks out. Any ideas?

Have a look at the wires under the headlamp. I have found the steering column cuts the wires and they rub together. Also the kill switch and headlamp switch are together. Maybe rusted or dirt.

Just a idea.

Is it high or low beams causing this?

If your display is going blank its becouse your having over voltage problems, the display going blank is a safety feature and its stops it from getting voltage spikes and having you go spend 600 beans on a new one. I would check your battery condtion and replace if need be then check your voltage outputs, I,m assuming if it's an 08 you should still have warranty on it and you might want to take it in and have them check it.
And yes arff is right maybe your switch cluster.
