Banshee backfiring

Hey, I have a 2007 banshee all stock except for a k&n airfilter. the quad ran fine until I put the filter on, than it started to backfire when you let off the throttle. I didn't rejet, i was told i dont have to by the salesman. I pulled the plugs and they are a nice brown color. Do you think I need to rejet a couple sizes bigger on the mains?

Re: Banshee backfiring

Turn in the air screws on each carb a quarter turn at a time. If you get one full turn in on each screw you may have to go one size larger on the pilot jet. Should not have to change anything other jets.

Re: Banshee backfiring

Yes, yes, yes, if you modify anything on a 2 stroke engine (banshee) that has to do with air, fuel, exhaust systems you MUST rejet. You must also jet for elevation and temperature. I would recommend doing a plug chop to check your mains. See links below for additional details.
