Bruderheim sand dunes a$$hole cop

Just some info about riding at Bruderheim. We went there on monday oct 26
and guess what. There was a cop sitting there and he informed us we could not ride there without permission. but he said he didnot know who owned the land. Do anyone know who can be contacted to get permission to ride there?

I never sounded off about the a$$hole part. Lets just say he was big time.
I could think of better words to describe him but that wouldn't be nice

HI calvin, part of the area that you can ride in/on is called the North Bruderheim Natural Area. and it is Alberta Crown/Public Land. This Natural Area is located in two different Counties, The County of Strathcona and the County Lamont. If you end up in/on the County of Strathcona you will be FINED as they have a NO ATV/OFFHIGHWAY USE in all of the COUNTY. The R C M P patroll the area out of Sherwood Park and they do have QUADS as well. You will have to find out about the Lamount County yourself. You can do a search on the Alberta Gov site to find Natural Areas and it is your responsibility to know where you are riding at all times . There are Maps of these areas with land discriptions at this site. There is another Natural area Called Nothwest of Bruderheim as well. you do not want this one, too smal of an area. As far as the patrol officer, what can I say? but if you were on RR 205 , there was a rider killed this fall when he drove out of the area he was riding in onto the road and was struck by a vehical. in the County of Strathcona.?? abiceman, this area, BRUDERHEIM NATURAL AREA, is not closed, "YET", any area West of the EAST side of Range Road 205 is in the County of Strathcona,at this locatin, further South it is RR 204 that is the start of the County of Strathcona. East of these two areas is in the County of LAMONT. You can do a search for the County of Strathcona and look for County Map. Look at the North End of the Map. Copy the part that you would need, and take it with you. Like I said in my pevious Post, know where you are riding at all times, this means once your Machine is on the ground your intent is to Ride, make sure where you are parked is East of the RR 205, not on the road.

I rode around Vinca Bridge near Bruderheim, and never had a problem. Got stoped by the rangers but had insurance and registration, they said stay off the road and have a nice day. And a nice place to go for a rip!

How long ago was it that you were there and what side of the river were you on. The North side is in the County of Sturgeon, OK to Ride. If it was on the South side, You were Lucky that they were not the R C M P or the Bylaw enforcment officers. I think that they have increased the patrol of the area since the fires and the death this year.
