![]() | Weekend riding partner(s) You would think I could organize myself better but I need someone to go out on the snow with this weekend. All the regulars are working/sick/wifeing. Have both Saturday and sunday days available. Whitecourt? Scratch the Whitecourt thing. Dales funeral is tomorrow. When out to the Trailseekers staging area today to have a look. Always wary about local club trail systems no matter what town they are in. This setup looks first class. Headed out at 10 AM tomorrow to give the mountain sled a little run. Let you know when I get back. |

![]() | Well it wasn't 10 (Supercross at 11) but I made it to the staging area at 2 PM. Only 4 trucks in the parking lot. About 15 sleds stopped looking at the map. Hmmmm, must be another parking lot. Headed out on the trail clockwise and ended up on Highway 16. Must have missed a turn somewhere. Back on the trail after some cross country navigation. A ton of tracks and sleds everywhere. Trail abruptly ended at a road. Damn, I must be getting old. Backtrack about 2 miles and there it was, a turn, not marked from the west. Heavy throttle and a few miles later, came across the picnic stop, nice fire, didn't stop. Some more off trail (by choice), a quick counter clockwise loop and there you have it. 60 miles in 2.5 hours. Fun. Now I see why people ride Renegades, Crossfires etc. Damn Summit isn't the best trail sled but still fun. Buy an ASA trail pass from a club of your choice, join the club (I am) and work to expand our riding areas and keep what we have in great shape. End of report and sermon. later |

![]() | Surprised that no one has commented on the average speed. You can really haul A$% out there. Flat landed a couple of the drop offs and over jumped one step up jump (where is the ditch banger chassis when you need it?) but all in all a fun ride. Haven't owned a short track for 10 years now and for the amount of riding I do around here the old Summit will have to doo. Nice avatar BG. ![]() |
