Re: Tilt Trailer that wont stay up ?

If nothing at Princess Auto the try going to a wrecking yard and picking up a hydraulic strut that hold up a rear door on an SUV or mini van. Fasten that underneath at a point where it just holds the deck up....not too far forward

Re: Tilt Trailer that wont stay up ?

or go old-school with a 2x4 under the front corner holding it up and when u drive the first sled on it should shake it loose and trailer will come down. had to do it a few times haha

Re: Tilt Trailer that wont stay up ?

Depending on the swivel point, tighten up the pivots bolts OR add washers to create a friction point.

Re: Tilt Trailer that wont stay up ?

cant give it back, bought it Montana last August to bring Big Box home, thought it was better buy than a smaller 4 by 8 trailer, least I could use this if couldnt sell, and cant sell, so might as well get it ready to use .the struts on back doors of mini vans have small ball and 1/2 long 5/16 threads .wont work under this trailer,But emailed Princess Auto and they do have $10.00 struts in there Surplus stuff, will pick 2 up Tuesday.

Re: Tilt Trailer that wont stay up ?

You guys are killing me

Take two pieces of flat steel and bolt them together, kind of like a scissor action, bolt/weld one end to deck the other to tongue. The friction will keep the deck up when unloaded and weight of loaded will lower the deck and it will be hidden underneath.
