Sask Registration

Just heard on the news snowmobile registrations will be $70 no $40 this year after sunday, which would be a big deal but they are adding on trail permit costs to the registration not just upping registration

I dont ride trails at all but i guess its a good thing for trail groomers and clubs....

registration has included trail passes in sask. and manitoba for last 2 or 3 years. 70 bucks is cheap for liability and trail pass.

Re: Sask Registration

Last year the trail permit was part of the registration. You almost have to ride a trail to get any of the play areas so you pretty much have to have a trail permit and have your sled registered.

I know the cops were cracking down on it around PA, both mounties and city cops on sleds. They were focused on unregistered sleds and people driving them without licenses.

For $150 it's stupid not to register them. Rather than ruin your day if you actually get caught and get that much in fines plus your sled seized.

Some may think it's easy to outrun the cops. Like us, you never know what might be under the hood

Re: Sask Registration

The forced trail permit with regisration is a joke. I never ride trails and don't plan on it. If i go to the mountains then I pay my fee there. The trail permit with regisration is an NDP idea and that's all. It might as well be called another tax, there is no need for it.

Re: Sask Registration

Hey pwdrhnd you tell us all that you Never ride trails right? Well how do you get to your riding areas? You province has a very good system where all users pay. No freeloaders all pay. You do want the clubs building and maintaining trails to have some funds to keep the trails going dont you? Maybe your family or friends use the trails in Saskatchewan. Why would you be willing to pay in BC and not at home? Just wondering!!!! If everyone thought that way where would snowmobiling be right now. Maybe like where I live in Stratchona County where we cant even ride anywhere period! If only Alberta had that type of system things here will be different for those that do ride the trails with our friends and family. Just saying!

Good luck on your season hope all goes good for you. Watch out for the cops checking for stickers.

Re: Sask Registration

Trail passes are not included in your insurance in manitoba. They were talking about doing it but no one could get their act together quick enough to get it done. So they are still seperate, $105 until dec 15th and $135 after.

Re: Sask Registration

SGI is a frickin joke. They charge pst on a sled everytime it's registered to a different person. Regardless of whether it's been payed on it or not. So, you could sell the sled 20 times in a a year and they would make 20 times the pst off it!!! Tell me that is not criminal! And another thing, the collision there doesn't cover your sled if it falls off the trailer, they say trailer insurance has to cover it, but you can't get that kind of insurance unless your a comercial company....bull if you ask me....I put Alberta insurance on my sled this year and it's covered whether it's on the trailer, on a friggin plane, or rollin down the mountain. And it's a little cheaper than Sask too. Don't forget the Sask lifted vehicle policy they tryed to push through, Sask is Gov insurance, and we all know how crooked governments are!
