Removing heated grips

Need to change handle bars on my sled('09 XP). Have the rubber grips off no problem. But the heated cork is stuck pretty good. Having never changed these before, i do not know if they are always stuck like that. Any suggestions as to how I can get these off without destroying them. Thanks

Re: Removing heated grips

I found that using a carb cleaner and a razor blade works well. The carb cleaner will loosen the adhesive and then lift the cork pads off with the razor. If you do wreck one, the cork pads are available from Doo separately. Hope this helps.

Try applying a little heat gun action, you will probably wreck the cork but you can buy for about $3 each. Saving the element is what you want. Good Luck
