| help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 hey guys, I have a 05 rev 800 and just lately i've noticed that it has been idling at almost 3000 rpm instead of normal which is about 1800rpm. I'm not sure if maybe something has froze up on it or not because it isn't kept in a heat shop but ya its idling around 3000rpn which is way too high and i haven't adjusted anything recently that would cause this so if anyone has any suggestions that'd be great. |

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 Thats weird, mine is acting up as well. Once its warmed up good and i smash the flipper a couple of times and come to a stop, it idles up over 3000 and sounds really lean but then drops within a minute or so. didn't do it up in revy a month ago. i am thinking my carbs are sticking open a little. Any input???

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 any chance that you are getting air into the crankcase? screws backing out on carbs for example? I have seen it cause fast idle and running pretty lean as mentioned in the last post. |

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 Check your carb boots..They will almost for sure be delaminated. Take them off and push and pull the rubber and you'll see holes or they will be separated from the aluminum structure. The exact same thing happened to my 05 and now she idles normal...BUT---These 800 motors like to hang for a bit but 3000rpm is too high. If you blip the choke--does it go to normal rpm and stay there?

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 my o4 summit 800 would do the same thing, it was the choke out of adjustment.

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 When i flip the choke on and off she idles down. I was looking at my reed boots and they are starting to crack. i didn't think v-force would do this so soon. there's only 800km on them and the sled is always stored inside covered up. WTF???

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 Hey Sheebansavage "If you blip the choke--does it go to normal rpm and stay there?" yes thats exactly what it does it will go back right to its exact rpm that its supposed to go to like 17 1800 rpm for a bout 30sec to a minute then work itselft steadily back to around 3000 rpm again.. |

| Re: help, 2005 ski doo rev 800 this is happening because your pilot jet is too lean. This is very common on all newer flatside carbs, happpens on our two 04 Summits 800's, my 03 Cat 900, my buddy's 08 Summit 800 at lower elevations... Since these sleds are setup for the mountain, they won't do this up in the hills. I wouldn't worry about it too much.... At least were not. Just blip your choke, and it should stop the high idle, then shut off the sled.
