driver size ?

Ok im going to put a longer track on and am wondering what size of drivers to go with im going to go to extros i have 10 tooth on there now and want to cut my top speed down, its 144 to 159 track

i would just drop to a nine, any other gearing down can be done easily and cheaply by changing your sprockets. and chain

What are you running for gears, I would either stay with the 10 tooth or 9 if you can't don't go any smaller.

what are you doing this on ?? an older xlt? just noticed name

i have a buddy whos moddin his old xlt i think its a 94 or something but he needs to find a way to lift the front end up ...(with longer track sleds nose goes further down and plows)

hes thought of ways but not with out creating a major weak spot

i stretched a 2001 800 summit from 144 to 159 and had to do nothing just rebuilt both clutches at the same time and redid top end it was enough.

its a 96 xlt with a bb ultra motor in it and i want to play in the hills more with out it loading up if i can keep it in the revs its fine but going slow on the trail it loads up and becomes a dog

extend the spindles... you should be able to extend them at least a couple of inches

not to steal the thread again.. but im doing the same thign he is too my sled.. its a 99 xc... i had to go from 9tooth too 7tooth just to fit a 2" paddle under it... btw its goign from 121-141..


boots, can u explain about lengthening the spindles and how u woudl do that?????
