![]() | Re: 3 inch with out Extended Chaincase, 163 Length you can do it with the avid drivers it will fit but there isnt much for clearance and the snow will probably have a hard time exiting which will hurt performance, and may rub if your track is too loose. go with the 2.5" and stock drivers way cheeper and almost as good, or the 174 2.5" and avids if you want the traction and more floatation but not the cost. The Apex comes stock with 7tooth drivers but I think the Summit comes with 8 or 9, don't they? If you dropped down to 7 tooth that might get you the clearance needed, if they are available.

![]() | Re: 3 inch with out Extended Chaincase, 163 Length The Xp do come stock with a 8 tooth 2.86 Pitch, And the 3 inch is 7 tooth 3 pitch. Once installed there is roughly 130 Thou clearence. There was one sled at the sled show done with out the extended chaincase. I am waiting to here back on the results of how it works. I feel like Oilboy said, The snow will have a Hard time exiting and slow track seed. So the 2.5 with the extra track speed should be right on Par with the 3 inch paddle. And being that close if it touches the tunnel, Something is going to break if the track starts running loose. Keep the Info Coming guys, Thanks |

![]() | Re: 3 inch with out Extended Chaincase, 163 Length Are they done with or with out the extended chaincase though. I am hearing the 3 inch with the extended chaincase they run Great, But its $1300 for the chain case and Speciality is charging 20 Hrs to do the install. Not including Buying the 3 inch track and 7 tooth drivers. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 3 inch with out Extended Chaincase, 163 Length Dropping to the 7 tooth 3" pitch drivers gains you 3/10ths of clearance (3.64" vs 3.34" driver radius). What's the stock paddle size on the rev? 2.25"? Dropping to the 7tooth and 2.5" paddle you'd more than stock clearance. Another 1/2" of paddle height would eat stock clearance....probably that .13 clearance xp mountainrider mentioned on the show sled. You could always shave the 3" paddle to what ever clearance you're happy with, might get you 2.75". It's easy to do with the right jig, I shaved a 136x2" to 1.5". Drop and roll is cheaper than extanded chan case but just as much work, if not more. I'm running 2.5" paddles with .25" clearance to my front cooler. Fairly common on the Apexs. l8r Shawn.

![]() | Re: 3 inch with out Extended Chaincase, 163 Length To keep you jack shaft tucked nicelly inside the front of your tunnel I think 2.5" would be the most without an extended chaincase. Just my thoughts...

![]() | Re: 3 inch with out Extended Chaincase, 163 Length I have a friend who went 174x3 with the stock chaincase it looks good,I think with the lower track speed the tight clearance may not be as much of an issue compared to 45 mph track speed. Will know more when he takes it out for testing! |
