Re: razor up on sled deck?

I have loaded my Rhino on the marathon deck, the ramp was a little narrow but with using the winch as a backup it was all good I rhino weighs about the same as 2 sleds and most of the weight is as low as a sled
IMO
I have done it and will do it again

Re: razor up on sled deck?

Depends on the deck.....or I should say more on the ramp might have to beef up the ramp a bit the rzr might be good by itself but when you add couple hundred pounds of mud and gear it might be too much fro the ramp

I haul my rzr sideways and it works pretty good. It is 4 inches over the legal width though but have been followed by cops without issue. The ramps above would handle the rzr when its clean but add about 500 lbs of mud and no go!

I have since picked up a set of these ramps and they work great! kevin at Rapid Revolutions( a sponsor here) can get them and i think they are between 550 and 600 or so.

Re: razor up on sled deck?

Just a note to the over-width...... If it concerns you at all alberta transportation will provide you with an over-width permit for $60 per year making you good up to 9 1/2 feet (maybe more I just looked into 9 1/2 and was told all I need is the permit)

Government of Alberta Ministry of Transportation: Oversize and Overweight Permits

Just sayin.

Just to clarify---the deck/ramp combo in this thread IS NOT a Marathon Truck Deck. It also looks as though someone modified that ramp to make it adjustable width-wise (which is how it is pulled apart in the 2nd pic).

We actually manufacture ramps specifically for this purpose---as well as a "side load bar" which enables your ramps to lock to the side of your deck for loading (looks like the ramps are on the verge of coming off the deck side in the first pic).

Re: razor up on sled deck?

Here is that same machine being loaded with a couple of our "Skinny" ramps. They are 20" wide, telescoping, and each rated at 1500lbs. Note the lack of flex when the RZR is on them.

Re: razor up on sled deck?

Check out Greg Painter from Mountain Mod Mania loading a tracked Rhino sideways up a Marathon (disclaimer--get that wide load permit).

It is at minute 2:20 for the Rhino side loaded and 3:30 for the tracked Rhino rear loaded.

Ya it is an STF deck and the ramp did not pull apart, it broke the 1 inch bars off of the 2 inch tubes. The ramp worked fine with a clean rzr but not a muddy one, 2 piece ramps are the way to go IMO. Lesson learned for me
