Rally in Dixonville AB?

Has anyone heard about a rally in Dixonville AB north of Peace River for the weekend of Sept 27, 2008? My old man heard about it on the radio but missed most of the details.

It should be around the Sept 19th or 26th. not sure hope to find out soon though.

is dixonville on the way to manning? how is the rally compared to harmon valley?

Yes its about 20 mins south of Manning and right along the main highway (highway 35 north). This will be the second year and it wasn't to bad last year. Last season it had a fair amount of mud (more then Harmon had in 2008) and you got everything from mud to hill climbing to straightaways. It's actually a nice trail network back in there. Not as huge crowd last year about 100-150 quads but it was the first year. I'm going this year again and hope to see a good turn out.

I keep hearing it will be on September 12th, anyone know if it is a family friendly trail? I was thinking of bringing the 170 rzr and the kids.

I don't think they can say much about it, most of that area is crown land and there shouldn't be a whole lot of mud or scag right now.

Dixonville Quad Rally

Trails west of Dixonville will be filled with the sound of revving engines when the North Peace Water-Skiing Club hosts their second annual quad rally.

The rally will run on Sept. 12 and the cost per quad entry is $20.

The rally will take place on a series of trails 23 kilometers west of Dixonville. The road to the starting location will be marked with signs.

Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. and finishes at 10 a.m.

The water-skiing club is raising money that will go towards upgrading and fixing their waterskiing jump.

“Our jump is all screwed up, the high winds tore it apart,” said club president Ray Lavoie.

This year’s rally will also feature a longer 70 kilometers course, an increase of 5 km over last year’s route.

“It was too short last year,” joked Lavoie.

Free hotdogs will be provided halfway through the rally. SRD officers will be at the event.
