| Re: Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009 It was a great time last year! Count the 6 of us in again, looking forward to it. The camping was a little tight at the staging area, could someone please tell me what the name is of the campsite that is close to the turnoff on the highway. Thanks Alberta Redneck |

There is another small campground north of the staging area. If you were there last year, you passed this campground just after you left the first check point on the trail. A mile west of the highway turn off, on the north side of the highway is a stocked fishing pond in a gravel pit. Should be able to camp there as well. I'll drive out there in the next week or so and GPS all the camping areas and put it on google earth.

| Re: Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009 The following link is for a Google map that show the locations of obvious camping areas near the poker rally. Hornbeck and Sundance creek have ATV use restrictions. Edson ATV Poker Rally - Camping - Google Maps Scroll to the north on the map to see the Sundance Creek Camp Ground

| Re: Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009 We had a long discussion regarding fees and children who go along for the ride but do not draw cards. I am not 100% sure of the final conclusion, but I will find out by next Wednesday. For now, I believe it is $15.00 or $20.00 for registration and first hand.

| Re: Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009 Well in that case, YES THEY ARE. A lot of us riders shake our heads and grumble when we see people on the trail without helmets. For about $100.00-$150.00 you can protect your melon. I had a roll over this year and I am glad I had one on. |

| Re: Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009 No helmets are not mandatory. Anybody that has been to a poker rally where helmets are manditory knows it is an unenforceable requirement. We need a law to really deal with the problem. In the past few years not wearing a helmet meant you ran into me on the trail; advise in previous years, but likely an escalation in our efforts this year. When we started looking at helmet use in 2002 we had about 25% of participates wearing helmets. In 2007 it was 93% and last year was 96%. Out of all the things this club accomplished while I was President, it is these stats that I am most proud of. Next Wednesday is the last club meeting before the poker rally. There will be a motion put forward that will ensure an escalation in how we deal with those not wearing helmets.
