![]() ![]() | Re: Edson ATV Club 2008 Poker Rally In general go here to read about geocaching. If you register for our geocache, we give you gps coordinates for the first hidden cache. When you find that cache, the coordinates for the next cache are written on the lid. And so on. The last cache will tell you are done, so you return to the staging area. At each cache you sign your name in a book. Each cache has small inexpensive items in them. You may take anything (except the signing book and pen, and the coordinates to the next cache) and leave something. When you get back to the staging area, you give the coordinates to the last cache to the registration table and your name is entered for prize draws. Most people will find all the caches in 2 to 2-1/2 hours. You need a GPS, must be able to enter coordinates and then be able to find a route to those coordinates. It is easier to find a route to the next coordinate if you have topo maps or maps that show cutlines, loaded in you GPS. Geocaching is a very good exerise for those that are new to using their gps.

![]() | Re: Edson ATV Club 2008 Poker Rally - July 5,2008 just out of curiousity, would the trail be suitable for a suzuki 90cc mini quad and a honda 70cc dirtbike? with 2 young drivers. i went for a ride with my daughter and son yesterday and want to bring them out more. otherwise how would this rally be compared to other rallies. rules for helmets, drinking etc... i dont want to attend if there is going to be drunks/idiots. especially with my kids. thanks. adam |

Helmets are not required, but we do find creative ways of getting riders to be responsible. Last year I was out on the trail handing out free raffle tickets for those wearing helmets. Raffle was for a chainsaw. Over 95% of the participants had helmets on their head. Drinking on the trail is near impossible to for us to monitor, however Forestry does run the rally every year and they do stop when they see someone with wobbly pops.

![]() | Re: Edson ATV Club 2008 Poker Rally - July 5,2008 thanks garry. i just figured i would check. i dont mind people having a beer with lunch etc... i have done the same but i dont want my kids around some drunk idiots burning all over the place. basically, myself and quite a few others i know, have decided to support rallies that promote a responsible/fun environment. so far i am down to the edson rally and the calgary quad squad rally. and the winter lac st. anne rally was great. looks like i will check this one out with the kids. thanks again. adam |
