![]() | Re: help me find a bike as a beginner the honda 150 would be too much. and the ttr125 is a bike you will get bored with very quickly. i have riden both of those bikes this weekend. would suggest you also get feedback on the kawasaki 140. at 13 your gonna grow pretty quick so save your pennies on the first bike and when you figure out if you wanna take the sport seriously go all out on your second bike. just my 2 cents worth that is

![]() | Re: help me find a bike I would go 2 stroke, their cheaper to buy, maintain and good for a starter too..in my opinion, learning on a 2 stroke makes you a better rider, when you grow and since you are 13 you will likely grow a lot more, you may eventually wiggle your way up to say a 250f, which is a 4-stroke and probably a pretty good one so I hear. I have a TTR 125, and trust me you do not want a 4 stroke trail bike to begin learning to jump and race, my 2 strokes are awesome, I'm 5' and these bikes are perfect for me, lots of jam, great for jumps, etc...much more fun then my 4 stroke, and the 2 strokes are great on the trails too. However if you are dead-set on a 4 stroke I'd go CRF150R, or if your interested in trying out a 2 stroke I'd go either a 100 or 125 CC's. Kawasaki and KTM make 100CC and 105CC's... but yea my final peice of advice is that I thought I'd try learning on a 4 stroke trail bike and I regret it til this day, because when I decided to upgrade to the 2 stroke it was like learning to ride all over again... I wish I would have started on the 2 stroke to begin with. Keep in mind, buying a dirtbike and maintaining them isn't cheap... and it's a known fact that 2 strokes are cheaper and easier to maintain...either way, good luck and I hope you find the perfect bike! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: help me find a bike Start small until you get the hang of it, don't go buy a big bike that will have too much power for ya, even if it will still fit you 5 years! Find some people that have 125's or 150 four strokes and see if you can test ride something, then try a 2 stroke as well before you buy anything. The two strokes are wayyy more peaky and take a little bit to learn how to ride on, the 4 stroke is a more forgiving motor, you can lug it along and it will have a broader powerband than the 2 stroke. The 2 stroke will have more power for the same CC size. The key is to try some out and then buy something that you will be comfortable riding, this will give you the confidence to improve. Learning on a bike you are comfortable on will make you a better rider, not the type of bike you have. Riding a big bike wayyy to powerful for you will only freak you out and you won't have fun riding it. And that's what its all about!!! Having fun!
