Re: rotary valve timing

Assuming its a 670 the timing on valve works well at

opening 145 degrees and closing 71 degrees with mag cyl at TDC and the measurments being made on the mag side intake port. Now you will need a degree wheel for this. However to be more specific what year and model is the machine? There are 2 pages of timing specs all the way from 1975 up to 1998 for every rotary valve engine ever made.

Re: rotary valve timing

ya i know gerald, his car name is after shock.looks like my sled is going to dealer i dont have a degree wheel.thought there might be a simpler way. its not a 670 its a 785 union bay based on 670, wonder if timing should be different for this engine.

hi...... Yup, you should contact union bay, as they liked to have a specific timing......i think they recomended the 583 timing spec, but it would be best to find out their recomendations for sure..........

Gerald's site name is "aftershock"......obviously after his car....

Re: rotary valve timing

You will have to contact a company called Fastrax Motorsports as they have purchased union bay and all the rights and specs to there products (253)848-0908. Has there been any modification made to the intake runners of the engine?? I might have a spare degree wheel i can send you.

If it is without a doubt a union bay engine call Fastrax, they should have all the specs for that engine
