Discuss rotary valve timing in the SNOWMOBILE RELATED DISCUSSIONS AND RIDING AREA's forums; now i done it! took apart rotary valve without marking were it was now i dont know were to set ...

![]() | rotary valve timing now i done it! took apart rotary valve without marking were it was now i dont know were to set it. is thier any way to figure this out with out a trip to dealer ?.. had to tighten fitting under the rotary valve it was leaking thats why i took it apart..

You're the guy that knows gerald melloy..... He is now a member on this site too.... He is under the name of his car(can't remember the name...dam....gettin' old i guess). It's on one of my t-shirts......let me know if you want to borrow the manual..... This is a 670 i take it???

Now you will need a degree wheel for this. However to be more specific what year and model is the machine? There are 2 pages of timing specs all the way from 1975 up to 1998 for every rotary valve engine ever made.

![]() | Re: rotary valve timing ya i know gerald, his car name is after shock.looks like my sled is going to dealer i dont have a degree wheel.thought there might be a simpler way. its not a 670 its a 785 union bay based on 670, wonder if timing should be different for this engine.

Has there been any modification made to the intake runners of the engine?? I might have a spare degree wheel i can send you.
