05 Summit 800

I put a set of Rk-tek pistons in my sled two season's ago and 1800km later, i detonated the mag side in Revy. Turns out i put the wrong base gasket in (too thin) so mountain magic has put in a new kit that comes from Rk-tek that comes with a different head and is said to bump up the motor 15hp. I can't wait ride with this new setup.

Re: 05 Summit 800

so you only put in the rkt pistons the first time, without the new head? and now specialty is installing the rkt drop in kit( pistons head and inserts probably the computer upgrade also). or are they installing a totally new head and inserts?
you should be all smiles with the drop in kit and more smiles with their 827 kit. miles of smiles with the 860 kit. have fun, break it in right and giver.

Re: 05 Summit 800

Ya i used the Rkt pistons the first time and from what i am being told, they don't produce the regular duel ring piston any more instead they made a piston that works with a specific head. The pistons are ProX, the same brand as the 860 kit from Rkt. Compression is bumped slightly from 13.2 to 13.5 so i can still run pump gas. I think i'm the first one from mountain magic to have this kit installed.

Slamnek is correct, the straight drop in piston will no longer be available.
Kelsey has told us this due to the success of the new 800 head and piston kit. People are very pleased with the hp increase using the combination that he has developed. See the kit on our website. ( mountainmagic.ca )
P.S. we are not specialty.
