CARBURETOR TUNING
IMPORTANT NOTE: Carb tuning specifications included in this section are a
base line and should be adjusted as needed for your particular atmosphere.
Use exhaust gas temperature gauges or monitoring plug and piston color for tuning guide.
FUEL RECOMMENDATION: Due to quality variance in present day fuels, SLP recommends
unleaded premium (91 octane) for all snowmobiles. Fuels containing alcohol or
clean air additives will require larger main jets, usually two sizes more than the SLP
jetting chart. Jet needle must be raised one “E” clip position.
OIL RECOMMENDATION: For high performance trail applications SLP recommends SLP brand XPT
injection oil.

6-9000' 178 175 170 168____
9-12000' 172 170 165 162____
NOTE: For engines with porting or higher than stock compression, below 3000' use Keihin needle
P.N. N427-48-CCL. For ported engines, increase main jet size by ten numbers. Example 170 stock,
180 ported. Also, an altered air box, or SLP High-Flow Air Box Kit will require an increase of 2-3
main jet sizes (ie: from 170 to 175 or 178) and jet needle to be raised one clip position.
NOTE: After choke cable is rerouted for proper pipe clearance, it is very important to check for proper
adjustment. If cable is too tight, it will create a rich condition.

Re: 700 rmk jetting help

Then when you have the jetting figured out there is always the second best part.CLUTCH TUNING POLARIS 700 SKS/RMK/XC
0' TO 3000' ELEVATION
Primary spring Almond/Gold P.N. 7041645
Primary weight 10-62 P.N. 1321586
Secondary helix SLP P.N. 40-48/42/34 or SLP Dial-A-Spring P.N. 43-48/42/34
Secondary spring Silver/Blue P.N. 7041646, pre load setting #2
3000' TO 5000' ELEVATION
Primary spring Almond/Gold P.N. 7041645
Primary weight 10-60 P.N. 1321587
Secondary spring SLP Black/Red P.N. 40-68 pre load #2

Primary spring Almond P.N. 7041566
Primary weight 10-58 P.N. 1321588
Secondary spring Silver blue P.N. 7041646 pre load #3
Secondary helix For best acceleration use SLP P.N. 40-46/38/34 or SLP Dial-A-Spring P.N. 43-46/
38/34, or for best back shift at higher elevations use SLP P.N. 44-50/32 or SLP
Dial-A-Spring P.N. 45-50/32
Above 9000' use 10-56 primary weight P.N. 1321684
Running RPM 8-8200
Timing Recommendation
For the most accurate timing, it is recommended to set timing at 8000 RPM. Adjust
timing to 14 degrees (.050 inches of piston travel) BTDC at 8000 RPM.
Since the OEM timing marks are hard to read and not always correct, a dial indicator
and degree wheel should be used to make timing marks on the clutch or
flywheel. Failure to adjust timing could cause loss of performance or engine
damage.
Low RPM Timing:
1997 XC, RMK, SKS 4 degrees 1500 RPM.0041" BTDC Piston Travel
1998 XC 4 degrees 1500 RPM.0041"
1998 RMK 10 degrees 3000 RPM.0254"

ihave the force reeds, it'll fit, with the dual the pipes, the cylinders cant equilize the pressures, the boost bottle does that, it makes a wold of differnce , there about $23.00, i counld'nt beleive the difference either, you'll love it!

if it only revs to 6500rpm its to rich & if it revs to 7to7500 its lean you should hit 8000rpm & hang on the tourqe difference is awsome, get the bottle its smooths out everything+ more power! have fun!! lol if its back fireing on the top too lean!!!,i can pull 8400rpm out of mine! if you have any problems call me 780-875-1301
