Ministik Trails

[Ministik Man]

Looks like we have to reeducate people again about the Ministik Trail System.

First - It is a Provicial Bird Sanctuary (the birds and habitat come first - sorry but people do not factor in to this park). It is managed by the Alberta Sustainable Resourses and operated by a 12 member board of directors that determine who does what in the park.

Second - The Alberta Snowmobile Association is but one of the twelve board members (or user groups in the park). Tri-County is the ASA rep within the park and does the trail maintenance and trail management of snowmobiles.

Third - If snowmobile riders do not stay on the designated trail system (excluding water surfaces) then complaints are filed and TCSC has to send a maintenance crew out to Ministik and close down any trails other than the "Designated Trails" that have been set up by the "Ministik Board of Directors". Do to habitat sensitivity if riders continue to ride through the land lease operates hay fileds or the meadows and bullrushes, then it stand a good chance that Alberta Sustainable Resourses or the Ministik Board of Directors will close down all motorized vehicles with in the park PERIOD. They have adviced us at these meeting to "STAY ON THE TRAILS".

So while riding and see a sign "TRAIL CLOSED" please stay off it as it usually leads to private property and they file a complaint as soon as they see or hear you on the land. (It is they right) see the attachment of a closed trail.
